Harichandan introduces new karate style in India

International Karate master S S Harichandan of Orissa has been appointed as chief of Inoue-ha Shito-ryu Keishin-kai style of karate in India. The Bhubaneswar-based master today claimed to have obtained the country license after undergoing a training and test stint under Grandmaster Yoshimi Inoue, the founder of the style at Tottori in Japan from Jan 17 to 23. ``After the week-long stint, I was awarded 6th dan black belt and appointed as the National president of Inoue-ha Shito-ryu Keishin-kai Karate-do in India, `` Shihan Harichandan said in an e-mail release. He announced that he would soon seek affiliation from All-India Karate-do Federation, the official National body of all styles of karate in the country and appoint his representatives to popularise the martial art in different states.
